Why Do you Need Dental Implants?

Dental implants are the ultimate solution for the people who suffer from missing tooth. This is done by replacing the tooth roots. implants are clear alternative to your natural teeth and it can guarantee a strong foundation for permanent or removable replacement of teeth.

Advantages of Dental Implants
There are lot of advantages to choosing dental implants such as cosmetic enhancement, better chewing and biting capabilities and also ease in cleaning and maintaining. Some properties of dental implants are listed below.

  • Dental implants helps you to reduce the load of other tooth structures by providing independent support and retention to crowns, bridge work and over dentures.
  • It maintains natural tooth tissues without affecting adjacent teeth.
  • Loose fitting dentures can be replaced with improved support, stability and retention with implant overdentures
  • Implant over dentures contribute to better chewing efficiency and speaking, compared to full dentures

I you have lost one or more tooth, then you are a good candidate fordental implants. It is important you are in a good health condition. However there are some other conditions that you have to consider before you go for tooth implants. Those are uncontrolled diabetes, cancer, radiation to the jaws, smoking, alcoholism, or uncontrolled periodontal (gum) disease may affect whether dental implants will fuse to your bone. Before you prefer dental implants you must report your oral surgeon about your medical reports and health condition.

Methodsof Tooth Implantation

SingleTooth Replacement:
This procedure will carried out at the same time an implant is placed or after the healing period.an abutment is attached to the implant. This is a device that “abuts” or joins the implant to a tooth form called a crown, which replaces the tooth.

FixedMultiple Tooth Replacement:
In this procedure temporary abutments or healing caps will be placed on the implants until healing process gets complete. Then permanent abutments are attached to the implants. They can attach to custom-made crowns or bridgework that a dental laboratory will fabricate to match your existing teeth

RemovableImplant-Supported Tooth Replacement:
This is required to hold the upper or lower dentures in case all your teeth are missing. Removable dentures are often used to replace extensive tooth, bone and gum-tissue loss, thus providing support for the facial skeleton, lip and cheeks
